The Square Root Of Three

I fear that I will always be

A lonely number like root three
A three is all that's good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath a vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine
For nine could thwart this evil trick,
With just some quick arithmetic
I know I'll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality
When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three
Has quietly come waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer
We break free from our mortal bonds
And with a wave of magic wands
Our square root signs become unglued
And love for me has been renewed.

This is a poem from the movie : Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay. I know this is not my original work. But this is very close to my heart :) And it speaks a lot to me, and many many others :) Enjoy!

Hello Dream'R :) Welcome to my blog! And yeah I did not like the second part of Harold and Kumar much... And the first part, well I watched it like what 4 years ago when my idea of humor was quite different :P I still enjoy the first part though, every once in a blue moon.

And yeah, the poem is too good!

it's such a nice poem... just loved every bit of it... feel like forwarding it to each of my friends right away... I felt like talking to 3 personally while reading ;) - yippeee! I talked to a mathematical organism... something I've feared right from my childhood!

Interesting! I don't quite recall listening to this in the movie. Hmm, remind me, if you ever read this comment. Thanks for sharing this.

It's in the last scene of H&K part 2, where Kumar crashes into his lady love's wedding celebration and asks her to marry him :)
